Magikal Firestarters....Too Cool!

This looks like so much fun to do with the boys! Maybe I can get Gramma to get in on the "walkabout" to collect and harvest the ingredients! ~Mama Cass

Handcrafted Magikal FirestartersFill a paper egg carton with dry wood shavings.

Pack the shavings down tightly in each egg cup.I placed Magikal Herbs in each egg cup: 1 sprig of Lavender, 1 sprig of Rosemary, 1 sprig of Red Cedar frond and a Red Cedar cone on the top of the shavingsPour 1/4 cup of melted wax over each egg cup and let sit overnight to harden.

NOTES: Try to make these wonderful firestarters using the abundance of what Mother Earth gives you and not to purchase anything. yeah I know, the egg carton was purchased somewhere along the line... I melt the wax in an old soup can that sits in another pot that has a few inches of boiling water. Heat slowly on a stove until the wax is melted. Using leftover candle wax is best. ( you can also add essential oils to the wax) I also put the egg carton on an old cookie sheet so I can scrape the excess wax off that may flow out of the bottom of the egg carton. I reuse the excess wax. To use these wonderful firestarters; tear off one egg cup, light the edge and set into the center of the fire. That's all!
