Gymnastics

Canyon loves Gymnastics....he is so happy when he's there. It's only 45 minutes long, wish it was longer! He sleeps so good Thursday nights!
Here he is getting ready to do a flip over on the uneven bars
Here he is crawling on the balance beam

Here is River in the front yard.

Well, life got busy the last couple of weeks!

What's River doing......let's see....

He has 10 teeth now, they have FINALLY been coming in (like gangbusters), and it's NOT fun for any of us, especially him. I sure have the boys who have rough teething.
He say's "ice" now, and many other words, like "cheese" and others that I, of course, can't think of right at the moment! He is copying all kinds of words right now, he's really starting to try talking. He has up to 25 or more signs that he does/understands. He is truly, truly, a character. He is such a silly, silly guy. Not a serious guy at all.....just a crack-up.
Canyon is saying interesting things lately too! Yesterday, he says to me, matter of factly...."did you see that frickin jump?"
Yeah. You read it right.

So..........once again, Mom is re-thinking her word usage on a daily basis!!!
I offered frickin-fracken.....or flippin. We'll see how that one goes.

Spongebob Squarepants is the biggest hit these days, for both of them. Canyon loves it most (I'm ok with it, not educational at all, but it's pretty much the only one that they watch that isn't) and when the beginning song starts, River sings the "Ohhhhhhhh....." that the pirate sings. It's hilarious, to see or hear River at anywhere in the house when he hears the beginning "Are you ready kid's?", then River sings "Ohhhhhhh" (and the song goes "who lives in a pineapple under the sea?")
River also loves singing the "oh" in B-i-n-g-o.

Canyon learned to do a routine last Thursday in Gymnastics, it was cool, and he did awesome. He was on the uneven bars, and did a flip over, crawled up a balance beam up in the air to a taller trampolene, does his jump sit thing, does a straddle jump all along another trampoline, and cartwheels! He loves going so much.

We moved our office out of the back room over a week ago, it's why we've been offline for awhile. Canyon now has his own room, in the back room. He has a little t.v. and vcr for his movies, for when he wants/needs his own time. He likes it alot, and it's quite cozy!

We found another king bed (this one is firm! I can sleep without as much pain!) for a steal, so we put our old one in Rivers room, which WAS Canyons room. The computer is now in our room.

Well, I can't add new pictures right now, but I'll add a few old ones, from this month.

There is a couple cute ones of Canyon and River playing with the calf nipple (from a calf bottle), in the bath tub, we sqeeze it, then suction it to their chest! We all get a good chuckle.

We played with rice one morning, they got it all over the kitchen! They had fun for almost an hour!

Smells like Chamomile

Canyon knows his herbs!

Today, he was playing with some candles. They were actually some leftover candles we had during the time he was being born. Some of this set were lit during his beautiful home birth, all around the livingroom.
Anyway, I'm going to bring them to the shop, they were on the table, in a basket. He got them out and was stacking them, playing with them, I was making dinner....
I hear him say (after visably smelling them, a big sniff) "mmmmm.....smells like chamomile"
I was floored! I said "oh really, chamomile, huh". He say's , "yeah, chamomile".
I said that was nice, he wanted me to smell, so I did. I already knew they were vanilla, I told him I thought they smelled like vanilla. He said "no, chamomile!".
Ok, they smell like chamomile to you, that's good enough for me.

I thought about this afterward. I thought about how he knows when he needs Arnica, or lavender as medicine. He knows that lavender goes on owies and burns, and that Arnica goes on bumps. What a bright, Earthy little man.

Tonight in Gymnastics (jim-nax-tics, as Canyon puts it), he got miffed for the first time. Coach Donny told Canyon to try again, cause he didn't quite have it right. Oh boy. Wrong thing to say to our 3 year old. He had a bit of a hard time, but recovered. He wasn't so sure he wanted to be there for a few moments, but by the time he had another turn, he was all better. He does a good cartwheel now! They learned jumping jacks and a bigger cartwheel tonight. He learned "duck, duck, goose" last time, and this time, rock tag. Rock tag is fun, two kids run around "tagging" kids, those kids turn into a "rock", (pretending to be a rock), then another kid is going around tagging the rocks, and they get to come back to life and run around again. Canyon is so cute, running around, he giggles so much.

River is going through a huge mimicking words phase now. He is saying words pretty well, and really trying all day long. Using signs like crazy too. Really getting it, he has about 25 or more signs that he uses. "Shoe" is a newer one, and "all done/all gone", and "up", "down", "kitty" (and he's saying that one). "dada" is his favorite sign and word to say. He asks for Daddy all day long. I remember around this age, Canyon did this too. He is really a daddy's boy when dad is home. When he's not, totally a mommys boy. Oh, he finally does the sign for "mommy" now too!

Enough for now, gotta get to bed!

Easter Egg Hunt (one day late)

Easter Egg Hunt today! Yeah, I know, a day late!

We had a long family day together yesterday, so we did the hunt today.

Canyon decorated the eggs

Then River woke up from nap, and they blew bubbles....

The hunt was on! They had a lot of fun.

River was loving it, giggling when he found one
The RARE photo of mom with the boys, and one of Mike with the boys, and after the hunt, Mike took them on a walk and gave mom a break! Woo Hoo!
Ok, tomorrow is planting seeds day!
I will post our pictures from that tomorrow night!

"That's not fair!"

Today, after the boys had their quick little Easter Egg Hunt in our yard, River went to the Baby Jogger, and bike trailer (He LOVES them, gets in them all the time...he loves our rides), and got into the jogger, so I strapped him in, and Mike was going to take him around the yard, when Canyon comes running up the hill saying "that's not fair", we asked what wasn't fair, "is it that River is going for a ride?", Canyon say's "yeah, and he's in my spot! That's not fair". Mike and I tried to keep a straight face, and we got it settled, Canyon got in, and Mike took them for a long walk, down the bike trail halfway to Smelterville and back! I think THAT was fair!

They have their own BLOG!

As if I'm not busy enough..........I'm attempting to keep a blog for Canyon and River, mostly to jot down things we do homeschooling, projects they do, learning, and fun. It may be too much, but I'll find out. Many times I want to post what they did, or pictures of it, but I felt it should be on their own page, so here is their blog.

This is for family, and friends, so I hope you enjoy, and post a comment here and there!
