A cutie pie, The dentist, A lego ship, And a shelf!

I had to add this picture of River, it's just so cute to me. :) He was asking me to take a picture of his owie finger. I couldn't see an owie, but it was there!

...and a silly face

A closeup of a Lego Ship Canyon built

The bigger picture of Canyon with his Lego Ship of the day. I love this picture, cause he looks so dang handsome! :)

Canyon getting work done at the dentist in January. His first time getting anything done, and he was such a trooper ! He let them give his teeth a cleaning, and he let Dr. Savage drill out his two bad teeth and put stainless steel crowns on both.
Here he is with his little gas "mask" and shades, getting ready for the work to be done...
Here he is, having his teeth drilled, he did so wonderful, I was so happy that he was comfortable enough to let him do this. He had been in a lot of pain, and after this was done, and healed up, he isn't in pain there anymore. He has one more that will be crowned end of February, and he'll be pain free then! Instead of antibiotics, I had him gargle and swish with Tea Tree oil and water daily for about 4 days.
Mike helped me get these big huge shelves into the house tonight. I'm so happy to get them in, I can unpack all of my book boxes now! Well, most of them....I have a ton of books. :) When I bought these in Idaho, they were Hutch style, the back smaller one on top of the forward one here. If only the ceiling was 1 3/4 inch higher, the top one would fit. I was bummed, but this will work fine. :)

BB Guns and Lego Ships

The boy's have been introduced to the BB Gun, and have been having a fun time shooting with Dad. He came over with it one night, and they all had fun shooting at a target in back of the house...

Here is Canyon on the ground, with River, and Dad.

Here is a picture Mike tried to take of me, in the dark...good one eh? :)

Canyon's favorite, he loves this picture.

Colorful Boys

Ok. This is a reminder to myself. Do not ask the boys to "entertain themselves" for awhile, while I finish paperwork online for school. It WAS very quiet for awhile. They WERE entertaining themselves. It WAS cool for them. Was NOT cool, however, for me.

I was told, very seriously, by River, that it WASN'T a mess.......it was a MAP!

Oh, and by the way.....
it IS Sharpie. Yeah.

(except for about half the color on Canyon, I gave him washable markers to finish the job) :)

Making A Difference

I HAD to post this on the boys blog today, a wonderful reminder, that even one small thing we do.....just one act of kindness, compassion, unselfishness, or love.....does NOT go unnoticed, or without appreciation. Even if you do not know what impact you have had by your actions, I believe we should still give of ourselves, even when no one is watching. :)

(This was posted on http://drmomma.blogspot.com by Danelle, with her permission, I'm sharing here.)

From The Star Thrower by anthropologist and writer, Loren Eiseley (1907-1977)

Once upon a time, there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work.

One day, as he was walking along the shore, he looked down the beach and saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself at the thought of someone who would dance to the day, and so, he walked faster to catch up.

As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, and that what he was doing was not dancing at all. The young man was reaching down to the shore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean.

He came closer still and called out, "Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?"

The young man paused, looked up, and replied, "Throwing starfish into the ocean."

"I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?" asked the somewhat startled wise man.

To this, the young man replied, "The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them in, they will die."

Upon hearing this, the wise man commented, "But, young man, do you not realize that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You can't possibly make a difference!"

At this, the young man bent down, picked up yet another starfish, and threw it into the ocean. As it met the water, he said, "It made a difference for that one."

Catching Up To The New Year 2010!!!

Wow! Ok, here I am again, doing the "catch up" :)

There has been SO much going on, so many changes happening for the boys and I since September of last year. There has been ups and downs, and I'm finally feeling like we are settling in now.

We have moved to another house in the same little town, just the boys and I. I'm happy that we are in the same town, as the boys will hopefully have the same friends this year, as they had from last year. :) I'm still up in the air about school right now, but my strongest desire is to continue to homeschool (unschool) the boys. I am enrolling into online school for Web Design, hoping that might help enable me to continue to school at home.

The boys have adjusted very well to the new place, I think they are starting to think that houses are disposable! We have moved 6 times now, since October of 2006, and believe you me, I'm DONE!!! :) It is my hope, that this time, we can stay longer than a year. I'll be putting in a new garden next spring, tilling up the ground brand new, again. We are truly living brand new beginnings :)

I'll post some catch up pictures in my next post.

Happy New Year!!
